D-Day & Private Ryan

Every year, on June 6th, I try to make a point of watching Saving Private Ryan. This film helps me remember the sheer hell a lot of young men went through 64 years ago in an effort to preserve freedom for the rest of the world. The opening 20 minutes of D-Day footage should be required viewing for everyone under the age of 50. It will help you stop bitching about the bullshit going on at work, and the current run up in the price of gas. You don't have to watch the entire film...just the invasion footage. Life is good...and things could be a lot worse.

Thank you for your sacrifices, young men. Rest in peace...

Another good one along the same lines, Band of Brothers. I think it should be required viewing in high school, but there is the word "fuck" once or maybe even twice, and "Goddamn." So clearly, we must keep our priorities in order to raise fine young virgin-eared spoiled rotten little pricks. Personally, I'd prefer swearing appreciative well-rounded young adults.

Sometimes I think that you and Billyfish share the same vocal chords. It's fucking uncanny.

Nope. Just comes from working with idiot parents doing their best to raise idiot kids while I try to teach them something besides the standard social rhetoric.

The bumper sticker on the toaster quoting Hank Hill says it best, "I don't have an anger problem. I have an idiot problem."
