The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

I sit by the phone, day in and day out, like a high school girl before the prom. Ring, damn you. I pick it up and call the Secretary. "Is this damn thing working?" "Forget it, and get back to work", she chides me.

I have grown weary of the wait, and simply want an answer. A trip to Men's Wearhouse, or hotshirts.com is on the line.

Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Never heard of that movie. Sounds a little intriguing.

I suspect the only negative they've found on you is your membership in TNTalk ... might want to let them know you will resign your membership if promoted ...

Not a movie... YET anyway. It's the second book in the Dark Tower series.

Another day passes, and no word. Hope is fading.

Thanks Tammy...I had a chat with myself last night as I picked up poop-sicles. Many would love to have my current job (not specimen collecting, but my real job). Don't let pride diminish one's blessings. If I can pick up dog crap every night, I can sure take a load of bullshit from the Workplace.

Al, by God, I had not thought of my connection to TNTalk. Rest assured you and the gang will be blamed if this does not work out.

I am reminded, all too often at our TNTalk meetings, of Al Swearengen's quote in Deadwood:

How does Hearst hope to defeat me? Allied as I am with the imbecile, the contemptible, and the promiscuous f**king insane.

Still no word. What the hell...there are two days left in the month. Clearly no hurry.

Said screw it today, and went to Lakeridge for a round of golf. The good news is, if the "imbeciles" make the wrong choice, I will have plenty more afternoons of golf in my future.
